“Bravo Zulu” is a Naval signal, conveyed by flag-hoist or voice radio, meaning “well done” in ship to ship comunication. Over time it has also passed into the spoken and written vocabulary. So when you tell a sailor “Bravo Zulu,” he or she understands it as “job well done.”
